Summary

The witching hour strikes again. Brimming with intricate battles that take place in, on and all over epic set pieces, Bayonetta 2 finds our sassy heroine battling angels and demons in unearthly beautiful HD. You’re bound to love how it feels to string together combos with unimaginable weapons and to summon demons using Bayonetta’s Umbran Weave in this frantic stylized action game.

Storyline

Starting a few months after the events of the first game, Bayonetta and Jeanne are fighting off a group of angels who attacked a city during a parade. During one particular attack, Jeanne protects Bayonetta from a sudden demon summon gone wrong, causing her soul to be claimed by the depths of Hell. Upon a tip from her informant Enzo, Bayonetta heads to the sacred mountain of Fimbulvinter. An entrance to Inferno, the Gates of Hell, is said to be inside and Bayonetta plans to use it to save her friend.

Hack and slasher with beautiful made scenery enemies. Story did not hold attention much and nothing about this experience seemed exceptional.

The story is weir and and funny but everything else is quite plastic. The fights are ridiculously messy and there are lots of moment wheee everything is far too small to see anything. The camera is just too far away from the action. The makers had lots of great ideas but it’s just not interesting to fight in a fighting game. You can do a lot of things like upgrade weapons and this seems to have zero influence on anything. I couldn’t even finish this game. I’m a great fan of God of war series and hoped for something similar. Not really. Twisted plot. Funny characters. Superficial gameplay.

Bayonetta 2 is Action video gaming perfected. The game is simply great, with amazing set pieces and a crazy story, but the real highlight of the game is the combat that simply thrives on letting the player figure out the best ways to tackle a fight without holding your hand. With the extra modes and the added bonus of the first game, there is no getting around it – this game is a masterpiece and a must have on the Switch.

It is the Devil May Cry on steroids. The combos are easy to pull off, but they do take practice. You will be destroying demons in no time with some practice. The story is crazy, but that is fine, it whisk you up with how silly it all is, but there is some deep emotions in the game as well to keep it grounded. The graphics get a mild upgrade, it is the frame rate that got upgraded the most and it helps. The smoother frame rate helps pull off combos much easier and keeps the action going so you don't lose momentum. Better shadows and lighting do help the atmosphere. The controls are butter smooth and they don't put too much on the player. You do get some tutorials to help you figure out how to do a lot of the combos, but it wants you to experiment with button pushing and analog pressing. The set pieces are just breathtaking and set a new bench mark for action games. If you think what you see in COD is amazing, you ain't seen nothing yet. The action pieces on this are simply amazing and will keep blowing you away, even after you have played it over 10 times. Simply put, this is the action masterpiece to get. This game is better than the game that inspired it. DMC, which is saying a lot, but this game is leagues ahead of any action game today, so if you don't have it, get it, and is there enough new content to get it again? Not a whole lot, but the portability aspect alone makes it worth 60 bucks. Get this game now.
