And even the current season teams in some cases will have top prospects missing from the game. And even worse is the player attributes. It's seemingly developed with no rhyme or reason. You can have a player bat .300 plus overall and hit 30-40 home runs and have an overall rating of 69 out of 100???? Or have a player who is still young start the season as an 89 overall put up decent number and by the end of the year be a 75 overall. Or have a star player like Mike Trout or Manny Machado have an overall raiting of a 82 and then a player like Ubaldo Jimenez be an 80.... Doesn't make any sense at all seems to just be randomly generated when a database is created for a new franchise mode.On to some positives that i love about the game and keep me playing it. It is simplistic but challenging enough to keep you coming back for more. You can re play season as far back over 100 years ago. It's always fun to go back and try and draft a legend to your favorite team and see how they do. Or try to develop a player who had tons of potential but never amounted to anything into a star. Its a mixed bag honestly, it offers fun and easy to pick up game play compared to other similar games like OOTP baseball. But at the same time it lacks some simple things that have never been a part of the game and you would figure by now would have been. I hesitate to buy the 2018 version for this very reason.
