I loved playing the first Ant War as a kid back in middle school. When I saw domination was out, I quickly went on Steam to get it. Overall, it was a great game and is a nice gateway to strategy games for kids. Managing certain factors like nest size or population size is key to keeping your colony alive. Moving from base to base is also an option as different environments have different density dependent factors that could lead to the success of your colony or its inherent doom. There are upgrades to different aspects of your colony like farming or military but I personally found those ineffective and expensive. Probably the best part of the game is the random events and encounters that you face everyday you go out for food. Battles, however anticlimactic it may be, still holds some excitement once in a while. But I do warn you: do not let your selfishness get the best of you in a battle thinking you might come out with a victory as you could end up leading your colony to its demise.
