Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is no different and it’s another good addition to the genre. The story which is very important in a game like this is very good, and the best thing is that it’s interesting and exciting throughout. Not only do they have a very good story but they have also made the bonus story return which adds even more gameplay to the fold. The puzzles in the game are very fun to play and I must admit that I enjoyed most of them. I would however have made them a little more challenging because I didn’t get stuck on any of them because they were a little too easy. There was also too many hidden object puzzles and I think they should have limited them somewhat. The mechanics and controls in the game are as good as ever, and the most important thing is that they remain fluid and responsive throughout. I was however a little disappointed to learn that they didn’t include the fast travel option, which in the end makes travelling a little tedious at times. The presentation side of the game is something I always enjoy with these games, and this addition is no different. The visuals and sound design combine really well together and make the good story an even better story. At the end of the day I always look forward to when a new game comes out from Artifex Mundi, and Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden provided me with some very enjoyable moments. It’s not the best game that Artifex has made but it’s not the worst game they’ve made either, so fans of these particular game’s will without a doubt get some enjoyment here and for that reason it gets a thumbs up from me.

Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is easily one of the creepiest stories that Artifex have delivered to Xbox One, with the city being grim and the antagonist providing jump-scares. It’s all fun and games though, as it is full of mini games and hidden object scenes that’ll keep you entertained.

Most hidden object games aren’t very long and Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is no exception. On my initial playthrough on normal mode, the game was completed in about 4 hours. One thing I definitely recommend is starting on Expert mode for the first playthrough. This will add a bit more time required for completion as you won’t be shown where to go and what to do on a regular basis. This is by no means a difficult game, and even if you become lost, the game still has the hint system available to point you in the right direction. Aside from that, everything about Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is fantastic. Whether you’re looking for an exciting story to playthrough or just something to test your wits, there’s something in store for you in Eden!

Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden tries to deliver a new experience in the Hidden Object genre, counting on its varied puzzles and solid story and atmosphere. And although some small issues may ruin the fun sometimes, the overall package is really appealing to the fans of the genre.
