No raiders, no ex policemen, no camps nothing?? You are telling me after a month of the initial start of the apocalypse, all humans are just turned? I dont think so matey. Why are the maps so small??? With the graphics this game has, this game can have maps the size of the whole U.S., but instead it relies on small towns with houses and a few commercial and industrial buildings... most disappointing aspect of the game tbh...Whats with the repetitive gameplay? This game Is a pure example of a game that has its engine built but the developers forgot to add gameplay, HOW FUNNY RIGHT?Early access? Its been some years, developers seem to be in development hell, but thats not my problemI'm really not hating on this game, I just don't see anything here worthwhile, Its gameplay basically consists of killing zombies (which is really dull kind of) - early weapons are quite weak and firearms are basically useless because for each bullet you fire, you call a horde of zombie reinforcements, and the other thing its gameplay consists of is looting, which gets really repetitive because all the loot is kind of just there, im not asking for the loot to be more rare I'm just saying that Its very repetitive the way its done.I will come back when this gets out of EA3/10 - A very good tech demo, lacks any sort of gameplay.

The game may still be in early access but it is still currently be worked on. It has an incredible amount of things and interactions you can have on the world, and has some truly unforgiving survival elements. While the game does have it's bugs and issues, one of the greatest features is that the game is completely split screen couch co-op compatible. It is one of the few Steam games, ( and one of the few RPG games in general) that you can play whilst sitting next to your friend in the same room. I have fully reviewed the game on Set Ready Game, a gaming blog, but just felt the need to give the game the exposure it deserves. The Indie Stone are creating something amazing.

So it is important for any reader to understand that this is a review of the game in its current state and not throughout its entire development history, with that aside let the review begin.Project Zomboid is probably the first zombie game to come out in some time that is truly doing something new and unique and for this alone it should be commended. It is an Isometric survival game with token RPG elements which blends the character management of the Sims with a large sandbox environment populated with zombies, buildings, items and even a few other survivors to deal with. The game is not about head-shotting zombies it is about survival which recently has become a somewhat meaningless term due to overuse. fighting zombies is rarely at any point anything more than an absolute necessity to be avoided if at all possible. this is done through use of the game's stealth mechanics which simply rely on line of sight and how much noise you are making with the only way of knowing how stealthy you are being whether or not the zombies are trying to eat you. Now although the game can be lazily described as survival or perhaps survival horror at a stretch the interesting thing is that you cannot survive. There is no way to win the zombies keep coming in ever larger hordes and the food runs out or goes bad and all the while your character gets crushed under the psychological damage of the zombie apocalypse. Your entire play through is as the game puts it the story of how you died. All in all this makes for an enjoyable and unique experience however it is let down slightly by a terrible user interface and the odd glitch here and there that give the game an unpolished feel.in the end i recommend playing this game as it is easily worth the meager amount they are charging for it and it does enough things differently to bring a fresh new perspective to the zombie genre, a remarkable feat in itself.

The isometric rendering turned me off at first, but I have high hopes for the next version of the game that gets released. I've never been a fan of Resident Evil or Left 4 Dead, but this zombie game has me hooked. I wish there was the ability to save games, though!
