Lego Worlds is an extremely enjoyable experience, but for your first couple of hours, or even for just of you experience with the game, it will frustrate you endlessly, because you'll be able to tell how amazing this could have been, with only minimal more effort put into it. If you enjoy Lego games, or even just Lego in general, and are willing to work past some of the oversights, like the janky controls or poorly designed UI, you'll enjoy it, it's basically Minecraft with Lego after all, it's our collective childhood dream come true, but it also will pain you, because you'll constantly be thinking "oh that would be so much better if XYZ," or the like, and most of the problems aren't stuff that would require lots of attention! TT already have a great HUD for other lego games, even Lego sandbox builders (just play the level editor in Lego Harry Potter Y1-4) that would have worked much better then the clunky schemes they used here. The "story", if you can call it that (not a dig as such, it's a sandbox Lego game, it didn't need to be the last of us) feels so last minute and ham fisted, leaving you to have to ask why they even bothered with a story in the first place.if you like Lego games, and see this on discount ($20 or less) get it. you'll have a fun few hours. and be able to think how amazing the game we could have got, and one day still may, could be.

Lego Worlds feels like someone dumped a box of Legos on the floor and told you to have fun. Only you’ve never held a Lego in your hand or heard the word fun. This is less of a game and more of an experiment for Lego to figure out its place in the increasingly digital future toy space, which is fine, but I for one would much rather play with real Legos. Or sleep on a pile of Legos.

They are cute, fun, and have a lot of gameplay, but one thing that always threw me off was the fact that both you don't really build stuff outside of pressing a button to build pre-defined structures. Secondly it really turned me off that, even in the games where you play as a "good guy" you get rewarded for destroying everything to collect LEGO studs, which were then in turn used to unlock characters, levels, etc...This all changed in LEGO worlds.. Frankly this is finally a LEGO game I can understand. While you can still collect bricks by destroying things, now it seems to have a bigger focus on discovering things, which can then be used to actually build stuff. Collect a new brick style, you can now use that brick to build anything you see fit. Find a LEGO set (or build) and now you can instantly build that item. In short , this game is allowing me to relive all my childhood dreams by building my own comprehensive LEGO set in game, then travelling around , discovering things, doing quests, and ACTUALLY BUILD using all the cool new pieces I've acquired.So far I'm really impressed with how much content there is, as far as the types of bricks and sets I've been able to collect. The quests are fun enough to keep you busy, but in short this is the LEGO experience I have always dreamed of. My main hope is that they continue to add content, more "sets" to find, and more quests and things to do, because in my opinion, this is the ultimate, and what a LEGO game should have always been. There are online multiplayer options but honestly I haven't even dug into that yet since I'm having so much fun just running around, playing around and building.My main hopes are they continue to:* Add more bricks* Add more sets (pre-fab builds)* Physics please introduce at least gravity physics.. Whereas Minecraft is simple enough to be understood by a kid, LEGO Worlds drowns you in a plethora of almost useless features. Even something as mundane as building and painting is clumsy and eats a lot of your time.

I like this game, however now that I have 80 gold bricks I am seeing problems. LEGO Worlds is a game full of wonderful but poorly implemented ideas. Its first hours are marvelous, but as soon as you get to the creative mode things get messy and the creation tools become a chore to use. It’s a game that wants you to love it, the problem is the potential is so wasted that even some LEGO fans may get disappointed. Other than that, the experience overall is entertaining and for its very cheap price, the quality of the content is very good.

The “minecraft” recipe works well and Lego Worlds is packed with content, but it is not as well crafted and enjoyable as the more linear and classic Lego games Tt Games has created in the past.

LEGO Worlds is a disappointing and frustrating mess. The idea of an open-world Minecraft-like title is brilliant, and maybe with a few patches and improvements it might live up to that promise. But right now? LEGO Worlds feels like it was rushed to consoles and performs at an unacceptable level. Kids might enjoy it in short bursts, but I’d recommend waiting to see if improvements are implemented in the coming months. Until then, go buy some real LEGO bricks instead.

Overall, it may be a pain to have to collect each type of brick that you want to use, but you’ll learn things. I do like this game, and I’m not big on open sandboxes. Or, perhaps I like it because of that.

There are some problems with the procedural world generation. And the UI lacks a sorting function for objects, while the free building is a little awkward. But nonetheless this is a huge creative sandbox somewhere between No Man’s Sky and Minecraft.

The game is also full of very strange bugs. My nephew loves this game and he will love creative. If I was playing this alone as an adult I would be deeply disappointed.Desperately needs patching. It's actually a very likeable LEGO sandbox game, but its hiding its charms behind hours of boring quests and cumbersome controls.

The problem however is that the two parts of the game, the open building, and the linear story, just don’t seem to mesh very well.

LEGO Worlds may not be built on the mighty foundation of survival and building, but the content in place is certainly a welcome addition. LEGO Worlds can be a bit hit-or-miss. The game has switched up the series' formula and it is refreshing to be let loose and explore the vast amount of worlds on offer. The freedom that comes with all of the creative tools makes for an enjoyable experience as you explore and the addition of dungeons adds a new layer of challenge that LEGO games have never seen before. With all of this exploration, though, comes regular lag and slow texture pop-in. This causes the long hunt for gold bricks to be an even longer one but it's nothing exceedingly drastic. It's a disappointment that to create your own world you need to first amass a great number of these bricks, meaning that a feeling of repetition will creep in eventually. Despite these issues, hopping into your rocket and soaring through the galaxy for more discoveries can still be a worthwhile adventure.

You DO have a cursory set of starter blocks, but for EVERY other type block you want to build with in the world, it has to be either 1)found in a chest or 2) taken from a green creature that randomly spawns in worlds. How atrocious is it that building features in a LEGO game are hidden behind a quest wall? I finished the game with 100 Gold Bricks, but I'm still way off from having the complete building set. I want to, say, build my irl house out of LEGOs but I don't have several of the sloped peices to make a roof, specific windows etc. The comparisons to No Mans Sky are valid, there's lots of exploring involving in this but until it has a Creative Mode from the start it's hard to recommend it.

Stupidly enjoyable and endlessly charming, LEGO Worlds is the gift that keeps on giving with different biomes – jungles, spooky forests, deserts, swamps, candy lands with gingerbread men and more - an adventure filled with quests and infinite scope to make whatever you want. It's a great game if you like minecraft but didn't care to much about the crafting and love Legos.You unlock stuff by using the discover tool and then you can by it with money that you find during the game. There are also hidden chests that give money, tools, etc.The AI does interact with each other in interesting ways. Nothing like seeing a zombie pirate riding a alligator chasing a person around.The game at this point is only two players, either local splitscreen or online. Hopefully TT will fix this and patch in a bigger amount of people in a world.There are FPS drops that really do suck. I am one that can play through those but it's something I am sure TT could send a patch to fix.TT does plan on adding more and more to the game so it will be interesting to see where it will end up in the future. I know as it is now me and my fiancee are having a blast to play.Also since I have seen some people complain about this but there is a creative mode you can unlock after you collect 100 gold pieces. I don't know why TT did this other then to maybe let you see the different ways you can do things before you go off on your own.I reccommend this game to people who want a laid back game that allows you to build with legos like in real life. So, the final game may have a different score requiring a review edit.Before we get into the review, I want to talk about the game's early access status and their Youtube policy.Yes, it's an early access title. As such, there's always the possibility that the game will never be finished. However, the devs have maintained constant communication, offered frequent feature updates, and have already shipped a number of LEGO games (TT Games) for Warner Bros. They're a pretty good studio with a huge publisher backing them. I'll never say never, but it's pretty unlikely that the project will be shelved this far into development given its feedback on Steam.Second, I know a lot of us like to stream on Twitch or upload videos to Youtube. The devs have explicitly stated on the Steam Community forums that they are fine with this, so you shouldn't have to worry about copyright strikes. Now, let's get to the good stuff!First, let's address performance. I have a decidedly mid-range computer (FX-8120, GeForce 760). Under DirectX 11, the game runs adequately, and MUCH better than it did when it first became available on Steam's Early Access. The performance gets a little better with each update, so I'd be surprised if it wasn't completely optimized by release.Second, let's take a look at the gameplay. Some people are of the opinion that this is a Minecraft clone. I disagree. It is definitely the same genre as Minecraft (sandbox creation), but the ability to build things in procedural worlds is about the only similarity on that front. In fact, this game's creation tools are much more versatile, with the notable exception of not having a circuit system (like redstone) as of the last time I played. LEGO Worlds rewards discovery by allowing players to become characters they have met or recall vehicles and animals they have discovered. The kits are a nice touch as well, allowing you to instantly create entire sets that you have found in-game. While you can still manually create anything you could with real LEGO bricks, you have additional options here. On a somewhat different gameplay note, LEGO Worlds also added a quest system a couple updates back for those who want a break from the sandbox and would like a bit more "traditional" gameplay goals. They're by no means required, but they are nice for those of you who like game-set goals once in a while.Next, let's talk about graphics and art direction. The art direction and graphics are familiar to anyone who has played any of the recent LEGO games. This is probably due to the fact that the same studio is behind this one. If you like that art style, you'll like this one. If you don't, you won't. If you couldn't care less about graphics and simply want to create your LEGO empire of doom, they're more than adequate. Personally, I like the art style, but that's just my preference.If the ability to create anything you want with an infinite set of LEGO bricks sounds like something you'd like, then this game is definitely worth checking out. If the lack of a redstone equivalent is a dealbreaker, wait a little longer to see what gets implemented.Now, let's talk about the features that AREN'T in the game yet:-Online multiplayer: the devs have continously said that this will arrive later on. People often say exploration is a key part of Minecraft; it is not. You can literally spawn, walk 5 blocks to a tree, start punching it and you're done for the rest of the game. I do like Minecraft, but there are many differences in this game. This game offers proper exploration. You start in the woods, find a horse, and you travel to a land full of candy canes and cupcakes and find a gun and a plane! The exploration is literally endless.The building. The building in this game is often the point of the negative/positive ratings. Contrary to popular thought, building is actually not that difficult. The brick by brick build is actually far more simple than most people think. If you actually read how to do it, you'd know that you can drag a brick using left shift and I made myself a fully operational castle with individual rooms in under an hour. Try doing that in Minecraft survival.Another thing is the pre-fabs. They are amazing. I have made my own town with roads (using the steam roller) and houses, and barns, and even a McDonald's down the road. The creation in this game, like the exploration, is pretty much endless.The building is far easier than most people think and the exploration is amazing and endless. I have nothing major to fault on this game, especially since it is in early access. The one, tiny, tiny fault is the third person view. Aiming is very hard with guns and bow and arrows and I think it would be a wonderful addition to add a first person view that is optional.TL;DR: The exploration in this game is incredibly fun and endless, the building takes a bit of skill but once read up on is easy, and the endless creation is amazing, but this is NOT Minecraft. Third person view can be buggy but otherwise this is an amazing game. I recommend to anyone who likes LEGO and who is very creative.
