Summary

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a third-person action-adventure with an open world hub. Unlike previous Lego games in which players had to advance through the story in a linear order, players can now choose to start the game from any of the main Skywalker Saga episodes and complete them in any order they wish. Each episode has their own hub filled with planets featured prominently in each respective film that can be visited and explored. Each episode will have five story missions each, a total of 45 levels.

Combat has also been revamped, such as lightsaber fights now involving a variety of combos with light attacks, heavy attacks, and Force moves, and blaster characters having an over-the-shoulder camera angle featured in many third-person shooter games.

Random encounters will also happen in the game's hub. For example, an Imperial Star Destroyer will suddenly jump out of hyperspace and send a fleet of TIE Fighters after the player. Players can choose to engage in dogfights with them or continue onward to progress the story. The game will have more than 200 playable characters, though TT Games has said that number will change.

The levels are a little too short but it is a cool proof of concept.

A massive LEGO game fit for the massive Skywalker saga. However, it is quite annoying to go back and forth in this huge game and do the same things. Someone who is not very related to Star Wars may not deign to play after a few episodes.

It will be hard to return to the old lego style from here and hope to see more IPs go though this.

I anticipated this game very much, but it did not meet my expectations. The combat, graphics and the vastness of the game are great, but II anticipated this game very much, but it did not meet my expectations. The combat, graphics and the vastness of the game are great, but I didn't feel the "pull" towards it to progress after the first few episodes, since it just got boring after a while. There's a lot of unlockables, so much one can do, but I think that that takes away from the game because it provides the player with less direction. For example, there's a LOT of Kyber Bricks hidden across the galaxy, but there's not much point in getting them, since you just use them to upgrade characters or unlock more content. The content is cool to try out sometimes, but it just feels like there's too much in the game. Unlike the Gold Bricks in Complete Saga, there's not as much puzzle in trying to get Kyber Bricks-- you just need to have the right characters or a bit of speed and skill. You also don't need to find out what happens in the story since it's based on the movies. Overall, they definitely put a lot of work into this game, but there was nothing particularly special about it.
