The mechanics are robust and the atmosphere is gorgeous. The level of difficulty is well adjusted and if you need help you can ask for clues. It's really immersive and relevant to the escape room culture. Once you've finished the developer's rooms you can to the infinite amount of rooms that the community have made and this expands the play time to virtual infinity. They recently issued a DLC with 4 new maps, i bought it with my eyes closed and would buy other ones with great confidence.

There’s a co-op mode, even, so you can be trapped in these escaperooms with a chum, which sounds absolutely fantastic. But on my own,Escape Simulator offers a far more tangible sense of the feeling ofplaying a real-world escape room, one spaceship aside, keeping thingswithin the realms of possibility. Ooh I can’t wait for that DLC.

I have never seen brain teasers with that unique gameplay mechanic. Uconventional puzzles offered by this game, which are sorted with different topics, could make you looking for pllots depending on subject of place you choose. Every level has own story and it is hard to find the repetitive solutions. Although sometimes there is an iterative element of putting things into correct place to complete the level, what can make you irritated. You could also think that usually horrible tips are a huge disadvantage, but everything is doable.

Personally, I have been to one, maybe two, before lockdown occurred, but it was such a fantastic experience; it was one of the few things I always said I needed to do again. I don’t know what it was about this new thing I enjoyed, but I needed a way to experience it again, but for some reason, there were no games based on it at the time, even though it fits the genre perfectly. That was until recently when I had the pleasure of playing the superb Escape Simulator. If there was ever a game that encapsulated the feel of Escape rooms, it was this. Now I finally had the chance to experience Escape Rooms in the comfort of my own home. But how is the home experience compared to the real thing? Like any simulator, this is as close to the real thing we will get.Escape Simulator is a first-person puzzle-solving game where one or two players are put in a room and are tasked with finding the key and escaping the room. Choosing from three different types of themes, each with five different puzzles. The puzzles can take about 20 minutes each, possibly longer, depending on how fast players realise what they are doing. Luckily each room offers hints for players if they do get stuck, but at the start, I didn’t even realise they were hints (even though they were telling me what to do and I was doing them).Like a proper Escape Room, players need to search the room for clues, with each clue leading to the next and so on, until they are able to escape. Some of the rooms were easy, and others were a tad harder, but currently, I have played one room from each of the three themes (Egypt, Space, Mansion). Besides the three main themes in the game, players can create their own Escape Rooms or play the community rooms adding endless hours of replayability. This is also what makes Escape Simulator so addictive, is that I can play one room a day or play five in a day; there is no limit to the amount a person can play and when they play them.Because each puzzle is in a room, the levels can feel small at times, but this doesn’t make it easy, but instead sometimes makes it harder to get a grasp on what to look for. If you are like me, you will be picking up everything and anything, hoping it is useful to the solution. Not all items player’s see are going to be needed, but it will be worth picking up everything you find and inspecting it; you never know what it may contain.Along with solving the main puzzle within each room, players have the opportunity to find tokens. The tokens don’t do anything special, but they are fun to find; plus, it fits the whole vibe of the game with having to solve puzzles and finding a key. To add to the challenge, every room has a set amount of time it should be completed in, but I wouldn’t worry so much about it as I never realised it till later, and even then, I ran out of time and was still able to complete the room. The three themes that have been chosen are perfect as they seem like Escape Room themes, especially the Mansion and Egypt. Space did seem a tad odd, but it was pretty close to science, so I could forgive it. Each theme uses items, scenery like players were actually in one of the themes with nothing looking out of place. For example, one of the Egyptian levels was a mix between an archaeological site with notes, books and tools all over. I liked this as it was a fun nod to each theme and made the game more appealing.Currently, I haven’t tried making my own room because I am pretty lazy when it comes to creating rooms, but I am looking forward to seeing what others have created as I see myself playing the game here and there for that Escape Room pick me up. Also, the co-op adds more fun to the game, but it is still a good time as a solo experience, and I would recommend it for any looking for a puzzle fix.The best way I can describe this game is an escape room without the embarrassment of going overtime and for a fraction of the price. Escaping an Escape Room from the comfort of your home in the way it was intended. If you enjoy escape rooms, you will love this for sure, and play it with a friend for added fun.A review code for Escape Simulator was provided by Nerd Pirates on Behalf of Pine Studio.
