Summary

Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic. Play as Deacon St. John, a Drifter and bounty hunter who rides the broken road, fighting to survive while searching for a reason to live.

At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love – and hope. It’s about how even when confronted with such enormous tragedy they find a reason to live. Hope never dies.

Storyline

Set in the beautiful, volcanic scarred high-desert of the Pacific Northwest, Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure game where you play as Deacon St. John, a Drifter and bounty hunter who would rather risk the dangers of the broken road than live in one of the “safe” wilderness encampments. The game takes place two years after a global pandemic has killed almost everyone, but transformed millions of others into what survivors call Freakers – mindless, feral creatures, more animal than human but very much alive and quickly evolving. In the demo you saw two types of Freaks – Newts, which were adolescents when infected, are opportunistic hunters, preferring to hit and run from the shadows; and a Horde. Made up of hundreds of individual Freakers, Hordes eat, move and attack together, almost as one. Some Hordes roam the highways at night, while others, like the one in the demo, have found a food source that keeps it in a single location. Skills learned in his prior life as an outlaw biker have given Deacon a slight edge in the seemingly never-ending fight to stay alive. But will it be enough?

I strongly recommend this game. The combat feel good i like how their a food chains like the smaller freaks get eating by the bigger ones they could make a prequel like who the girl you first see was dying named alzarez and also rikki patil and she didn't want you to come back to the camp? Why is that something must of happened.

Great port of a great title. Zombie games are all around us, but Bend Studio managed to squeeze every last drop out of this worn out setting. Everything is well-designed and polished in Days Gone – the believable world and characters in it, the distinct post-apocalyptic aura, the crafting, the thrilling combat and spectacular encounters with bloodthirsty hordes. In addition, this version is well-optimized and runs smoothly on a mid-range PC.

Absolutely top notch AAA game. It has its own strong personality, great performances, very mature take on relationships, and rivals Last of UsAbsolutely top notch AAA game. It has its own strong personality, great performances, very mature take on relationships, and rivals Last of Us narrative levels. The gameplay is better than in last of us, having more complex RPG elements, more weapons and items. Overall the world itself is a sight to behold and on PC it looks beautiful in HDR at 4K and with top cards (playing with 6900xt) it is a fantastic experience. It takes a while to get you hooked, but once you start uncovering the world and its intricacies, and particularly the story, you want to see it all the way to the end asap. I'm a critical guy and do not easily say this, but my highest recommendations! Buy and play this now.

Bigger is better. It might suit a bag of chips - Lay's salt and pepper, please - but not a computer game. Or at least not for Days Gone for PC, which combines the same large open world of the PS4 game with an overwhelming number of missions. Do we think Days Gone is a bad game? No, absolutely not. But to go back to the comparison with potato chips - one of our areas of expertise next to computer games - the bag is big, the content is weak.
