Many of our users have contacted us over the past 24 hours stating that they are unable to activate thier recently purchased Borderlands 2 Russian CD Key.

This goes in line with user reports over several gaming websites. It appear as though a small change has been made to the key whereby it must be now activated via the use of the VPN Connection.

Fortunantly, the game only requires the change of IP address on activation and is not required during actual play. Our VPN Guide is only a few simple steps, meaning you can continue to get the cheaper version of the game and be playing in only a few minutes.

The Region Free version of the game is of course still available and dcan be activated like any normal steam cd key. For those of you who want a hassle free experience when buying cd keys, the region free version is always better for you.

The change to this cd key will not effect current users with the game. It is only for those who are purchasing from now!

A few of our merchants have started putting up Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 CD-Key’s on their website.

Obviously these are just are just pre orders for the time being, but there will be little doubt as to the version that will be available. One will be a Russian CD-Key, requiring VPN Activation, whilst the other will be Region Free.

This follows the previous Call of Duty CD-Keys and there is nothing to suggest it will change for Black Ops 2.

Whilst the prices for the cd-keys are quite high at the moment, they will come down closer to release. Anything around the $25 mark would be a good buy, especially when pre-ordering to secure one on the day of release.

Some cd key shop’s are a lot better with delivering pre orders on time, so perhaps spend the extra few dollars and go with one who was honoured your pre order in the past.

This will be the biggest game of the year by a long shot, so there will be plenty of stock around! It will be a little crazy for those stores who do not have auto delivery so be prepared to wait a few hours on the day.

Without any warning, Blizzard has locked down the Russian language version of Diablo 3 – which few days ago was just fine in any other country than Russia and obviously [...]

Without any warning, Blizzard has locked down the Russian language version of Diablo 3 – which few days ago was just fine in any other country than Russia and obviously it was cheaper from other regional versions of the game. You could even launch the Russian version of the game and select another language such as English and play just fine.

However, from today, anyone with this version is being asked to download the Russian language pack and they will be locked into that language.

Back on the 16th of May, Blizzard were asked whether it would be fine to use the Russian version and play in English and a CM responded with:

Yes this should be possible, you should be able to choose your language normally once the Russian version is released.

Today this has changed and the Russian version has been renamed “Limited Russian” and the original CM post has been changed to read

Update: 08/06
The Limited Russian version is separate to the other versions, if you have a Limited Russian key on your account, you will need to play using the RU language pack
Sorry for any confusion over this issue.
Please note: the full EU version is available on the Blizzard Store which allows all languages and full region support via the Global Play feature (including Russian language support)

As you can imagine, there are now a lot of English speaking players locked into the Russian language with no way of changing unless they purchase a new EU version, or Russian players who actually want to to play the game in English but from today can’t.

There are plenty of customers calling for refunds or for Blizzard to let anyone who purchased the cheaper Russian version up until today have access to all languages. This all looks like a communication breakdown at Blizzard and perhaps we’ll see some compromise be reached in the coming days.

*UPDATE* 6/6/2012

According to the Battlenet websites there are no restrictions with the Russian CD-Key. They are not region restricted This is great news as the prices are already around the $40 mark!

There is some confusion however as according to the Battle Net Site, if you purchase a language locked version of the game you will be locked to that language and unable to change.

To qoute from the Battle Net website…

Will my interface or game language change if I switch regions?
Your game language and interface will remain the same when you change regions. If you purchased the full-language version of Diablo III, you will be able to play in all available languages in all regions. To play in a different language, you will first need to download the Diablo III game client for that language from Battle.net.

If you purchased the Korean, Russian-language-only, traditional-Chinese-language-only, or another language-limited version of Diablo III, you will only be able to switch to the languages you’ve purchased. You will, however, be able to play in all three game regions using the language you purchased. Note that the Korean-language client does not contain the real-money auction house inferface.

A few of the suppliers providing the games have tested a piece (myself included) and are able to change to English. Perhaps the Battle Net site is not updated? Or there are two versions of the Russian key?

For the time being, everything appears to be working ok, but stay tuned for more info,

Here are the prices from the merchants on CDKeyPrices

We have added a new page to the site.

It’s pretty self explanatory. The All Games section lists all the products we follow. We plan to decrease these over the next few weeks as some products are not in stock (and have not been for quite some time: games like Pro Evo 1923!).

As always, if you see anything you want improved, please get in contact!
